How much does Kling AI cost?
Kling's membership page did not show plan names, prices or credit amounts when we loaded it, so we could not verify what Kling itself charges. What it does publish is that there is a free tier with watermarked exports, and that watermark removal, some models and higher resolutions need a membership or extra credits[1]. If you want a listed price, Runway and Luma include Kling 3.0 in paid plans that start at $15 and $30 a month[2][3].
What we could and could not verify
| Item | What the page says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | Yes, for eligible users; credits depend on account and promotions | [1] |
| Watermark on free exports | Generally yes; removal is a membership benefit | [1] |
| Commercial use | Permitted for eligible outputs under paid-service terms | [1] |
| Plan names and monthly prices | Not shown on the membership page we loaded | Not verified |
| Credits per video | No general table; lip sync is priced by length, 5 credits for a 5-second video | [4] |
| API prices | The developer pricing page did not render for us | Not verified |
Kling's membership page is built in the browser with scripts, and the copy we fetched contained no plan names, prices or credit amounts. Third-party sites quote plan prices and daily free credits, but they disagree with each other, so we leave them out. Sign in and read the plan page in your own account before you subscribe, and note the credit cost of one clip at the length and resolution you actually need.
Where Kling has a published price: inside other apps
Two other video apps list Kling 3.0 as a model inside their own paid plans, and their plan prices are public[2][3]. Neither page we read gives a Kling-specific credit rate, so you still need to check the rate in the app before you can price a clip.
- Runway: paid plans include Kling 3.0 alongside Runway's own Gen-4.5[2]. Standard is $15 a month ($12 billed annually) for 625 credits, and Pro is $35 for 2,250 credits[2]. Free users cannot buy credits[2].
- Luma: plans include Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Seedance and MiniMax H3[3]. Plus is $30 a month for 10,000 credits and Pro $90 for 40,000[3].
Pika's pricing page lists Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, Wan 3.0 and other models, but we did not find Kling on it[5].
How that compares with models that publish prices
Because Kling's own prices are not readable, compare against what is published. Google's Gemini API charges $0.40 a second for Veo 3.1 and $0.10 a second for Veo 3.1 Fast at 720p, so an 8-second clip costs $3.20 or $0.80[6]. MiniMax lists its H3 model at $0.08 a second at 768P[7]. ByteDance's BytePlus estimates a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 Fast clip at 0.60 USD[9].
Our own Seedance renders were quoted at $0.29 for 5 seconds of Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p by Atlas Cloud's price endpoint on 2026-10-16. That is one account's quote; Atlas's public page lists Seedance 2.0 Fast at $0.1548 a second at 720p[8], so check what your own account is quoted. How to decide whether a Kling plan is worth it
- Use the free tier first and note how many credits one clip at your target length and resolution costs. That is the number any plan has to beat.
- Check that the model you want, Kling 4.0 or Kling 3.0, is in the plan and at what resolution[1].
- If you only need Kling now and then, a multi-model plan that includes it may cost less than a dedicated membership; confirm the Kling credit rate inside that app first[2][3].
- Read the commercial terms. Kling ties commercial use to its paid-service terms[1].
Where Cast fits
- You want to see the price before you sign in: Cast lists credit prices on its pricing page, with a 5-second Standard video at 52 credits.
- You prefer one-time credit packs to a subscription: the Starter pack is $4.99 for 450 credits.
- You want short vertical character clips from a one-line idea.
Where it does not:
- Clips longer than 15 seconds: Kling 4.0 goes to 30 seconds per generation[1].
- Animating your own photo, drawing or keyframes: Cast draws characters from text.
- Lip-syncing to audio you upload.
People also ask
- Does Kling have a monthly subscription?
- Kling sells memberships; its pages call watermark removal a membership benefit[1]. We could not read plan names or prices on its membership page, so check them after signing in.
- How many credits does a Kling video use?
- Kling does not publish a general per-video credit table on a page we could read. Its lip-sync guide says lip sync is priced by length, with a 5-second video costing 5 credits[4].
- Is Kling cheaper than Veo?
- We cannot say from Kling's own prices, which we could not verify. Veo 3.1 Fast on the Gemini API is $0.10 a second at 720p and Veo 3.1 Lite $0.05[6], which is the bar a Kling clip has to beat. See Kling vs Veo.
- Is the Kling API cheaper than the app?
- Kling's developer pricing page did not render for us, so we could not verify API prices. Compare both per second of output once you can see them in your account.
