How much does Seedance cost per video?
A 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 Fast clip costs about $0.60 on ByteDance's own BytePlus API[1] and $0.75 to $1.25 on popular resellers at their listed per-second rates, while Seedance 2.5 costs roughly 1.5 to 2 times more at the same resolution. The price is set by resolution and length, so a 10-second 1080p clip costs several times a 5-second 720p one.
Seedance prices by provider (as of 2026-10-18)
Every provider bills Seedance by output size and seconds. BytePlus, ByteDance's official cloud, prices it in tokens: roughly width × height × frame rate × seconds ÷ 1024[1]. Resellers convert that into a per-second rate. These are list prices for text- or image-to-video without a video input, read from each provider's own page.
| Provider | Seedance 2.0 Fast | Seedance 2.5 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| BytePlus ModelArk (ByteDance) | $0.60 per 5 s clip | $1.156 per 5 s clip (720p), $2.843 (1080p) | [1] |
| fal.ai | $0.2419/s, about $1.21 per 5 s | $0.4730/s at 720p, $1.164/s at 1080p | [3] [4] |
| Replicate | $0.15/s, about $0.75 per 5 s | $0.2312/s at 720p | [5] [6] |
| Atlas Cloud (listed price) | $0.1548/s (20% off its list rate), about $0.77 per 5 s | from $0.134/s after a 20% discount | [7] [8] |
BytePlus also requires you to buy a Seedance resource pack before pay-as-you-go use; packs start at 21 USD, expire after 90 days and are not refundable[2].
What we actually paid
We render our own published videos through Atlas Cloud, whose free price endpoint returns what a job will bill before you submit it. On 2026-10-16 it quoted our account $0.29 for a 5-second Seedance 2.0 Fast clip at 720p, $0.58 for 10 seconds and $0.87 for 15 seconds (about $0.058 a second), and $2.98, $5.94 and $8.90 for Seedance 2.5 at 1080p. That is lower than Atlas's public list rate, so treat it as one account's quote, not a price you are guaranteed.
- A 30-second, three-character dance made as two chained 15-second Seedance 2.0 Fast halves cost us about $2.50 per take. The result is Own It.
- A single 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip quoted $9.03 at 720p and $17.77 at 1080p.
- The number of reference images did not change the price in our quotes. Resolution and seconds did.
How to keep the bill down
- Draft at 720p on 2.0 Fast. Only re-render the keeper on 2.5 or at 1080p.
- Render one take at a time. If it is wrong, change the prompt and re-render that take; spare takes in a batch double the bill.
- Avoid faces that resemble famous actors and franchise props. A blocked render wastes your time even when the provider does not charge for it; BytePlus says moderation failures are not billed[1].
- Write the prompt as a timeline so the first take is usable. Our Seedance prompting field guide shows the structure.
Seedance through consumer apps
If you do not want an API account, Dreamina (CapCut's AI creation site) offers Seedance 2.5, 2.0 and 2.0 Mini with free daily credits[9]. Its Basic plan is USD 15.00 a month for 1,575 credits[11], which Dreamina estimates at about 19 ten-second Seedance 2.0 Fast 720p videos a month[10], or roughly $0.79 per 10-second clip.
Where Cast fits
- You want Seedance character videos without an API account: Cast's Standard videos run on Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p and cost 52 credits for 5 seconds, about $0.58 at the Starter pack rate and $0.47 at the Studio rate.
- You want to try it before paying: the first 5-second video is free with no sign-up.
- You want the price shown before you generate, and failed renders refunded automatically.
Where it does not:
- Bulk or programmatic rendering: Cast has no rendering API; BytePlus or an API reseller suits batch jobs.
- Clips longer than 15 seconds or 4K output: Cast tops out at 15 seconds and 1080p.
- Using a video as an input reference: Cast sends character images, not video clips.
People also ask
- Is Seedance 2.5 more expensive than 2.0?
- Yes. At 720p, BytePlus lists a 5-second 2.5 clip at 1.156 USD against 0.60 USD for 2.0 Fast[1], and in our own Atlas quotes 2.5 at 1080p was about ten times the per-second price of 2.0 Fast at 720p.
- Am I charged when Seedance blocks a video?
- BytePlus says only successful generations are billed and moderation failures are free[1]. Atlas Cloud's billing docs said the same when we checked them for our Seedance guide, but a blocked render still costs you the wait.
- Does adding a video reference cost more?
- Usually yes, because input video seconds are billed too. Replicate lists Seedance 2.5 at $0.9676 a second at 720p with a video input versus $0.2312 without[6].
- What is the cheapest way to use Seedance?
- For a handful of clips, free daily credits in Dreamina[9] or a free first video in an app. For volume, the lowest listed Fast price we found was BytePlus at about $0.60 per 5-second 720p clip, after buying a resource pack[1][2]; among resellers it was Replicate at $0.15 a second at 720p[5].
