How much does Veo 3 cost?

Veo 3.1, the current version of Veo 3, costs $0.40 a second at 720p or 1080p and $0.60 at 4k on the Gemini API, so a standard 8-second clip is $3.20; Veo 3.1 Fast is $0.10 a second at 720p and Veo 3.1 Lite $0.05[1]. As a subscription, Veo comes with Google AI plans from $4.99 a month (AI Plus) to $199.99 a month (the top Ultra tier)[2].

Per-second API prices

List prices per second, read on 2026-10-18. 1080p and 4k require the 8-second length.
Model720p1080p4k8-second clip at 720p
Veo 3.1[1]$0.40$0.40$0.60$3.20
Veo 3.1 Fast[1]$0.10$0.12$0.30$0.80
Veo 3.1 Lite[1]$0.05$0.08Not offered[3]$0.40

You are charged only when a video is generated successfully[1]. Because 1080p, 4k, reference images and extension all force an 8-second Veo clip[3], the cheapest way to draft is a 4- or 6-second clip at 720p on Lite or Fast, then one final render at the quality you need.

Google Cloud lists Veo 3.1 with audio at $0.40 per count at 720p and 1080p and video-only at $0.20, and Veo 3.1 Lite with audio at $0.05 and $0.08[4]. Its page labels the unit as a count rather than a second.

Unused monthly Flow credits do not roll over[5]. In the Gemini app itself, Google gives no per-day video count: limits are compute-based and refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap[6]. How many Veo videos a plan buys

In Flow, users below Ultra pay 20 credits per Veo 3.1 Fast generation, 10 per Lite and 100 per Quality; Ultra users pay 10 for Fast and 5 for Lite[5]. Before any daily credits, a month works out like this:

Is Veo Fast cheaper, and how Veo compares

Yes. On the API, Veo 3.1 Fast is a quarter of Veo 3.1's price at 720p, and Lite is an eighth[1]. Lite does not take reference images and tops out at 1080p[3], so for a recurring character, Fast is the cheapest Veo tier that accepts references.

For comparison, BytePlus estimates a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 Fast clip at 0.60 USD[7], about $0.12 a second, and MiniMax lists H3 at $0.08 a second at 768P[8]. Our own Seedance quotes were lower again: Atlas Cloud's price endpoint quoted our account $0.29 for 5 seconds of Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p on 2026-10-16, one account's quote rather than a list price.
