Is Hailuo AI free?
We could not verify Hailuo's free credits, plan prices or watermark rules on its own site[2] as of 2026-10-18, because its subscription page loads its plans with JavaScript and we could not read them. What MiniMax, the company behind Hailuo, does publish is API pricing: its newest model MiniMax-H3 costs $0.08 per second at 768P and $0.13 per second at 2K[1].
Who makes Hailuo, and which model it runs
Hailuo AI is the consumer video site of MiniMax. The site currently promotes MiniMax H3 with Omni Reference[2], and MiniMax describes H3 as a new-generation open, general-purpose multimodal video model[1]. The older Hailuo 2.3 model is still sold on MiniMax's API as a legacy option[1].

- Free credits. Hailuo's subscription page loads its plans with JavaScript, so the number of free credits, how often they refresh and whether you need an account were not readable when we checked its site on 2026-10-18[2].
- Watermark and commercial use. Not verified on Hailuo's own pages.
- Clip length on H3. MiniMax prices Hailuo 2.3 per 6-second video[1]; we did not find H3's maximum clip length stated on the pages we read.
To check: sign in on hailuoai.video, open the subscription page and look for the daily or monthly credit grant, whether downloads on the free tier are watermarked, and the credit price of one clip at the resolution you want. Third-party blog numbers about Hailuo's free tier disagree with each other, so we do not repeat them.
If you want MiniMax's model without Hailuo's app, Pika and Luma both list MiniMax H3 among the models on their plans[3][4], and both publish their plan prices.
