What is the best free AI video generator in 2026?

There is no single best free AI video generator; the best one depends on whether you want the most free video per day, no watermark, no account, or rights to use the result commercially. For renewing daily credits on a top model, Google Flow and Dreamina are the strongest free options as of 2026-10-18; for truly unlimited free video you need open weights such as Wan 2.2 and your own GPU[20].

How we judged the free tiers

A free tier is only as good as what you can do with its output. We compared each tool on five things, using only what the company states on its own pages as of 2026-10-18:

  1. Free volume. How much video the free allowance buys, and whether it renews daily, monthly or never.
  2. Watermark. Whether free downloads carry a visible mark.
  3. Account. Whether you can generate without signing up, and whether a card is needed.
  4. Rights. Whether the free tier allows commercial use.
  5. Model quality. Which current model the free tier reaches, not which one the marketing page shows.

We did not rank on taste. Every model here can make a good clip and a bad one; the free terms are what differ.

What each free tier is good for

Google Flow has the best-known model behind a renewing free allowance. Flow's credits page says everyone gets 50 credits a day with or without a subscription, but non-subscribers may be unable to generate at peak hours, roughly 2-5 PM UTC[1]. Its getting-started page lists a Google AI subscription as a requirement[4], so the two pages disagree; expect to find out in your own account. At 10 credits per Lite generation and 20 per Fast generation for non-Ultra users[2], 50 credits is up to five Lite or two Fast generations a day.

Dreamina offers Seedance 2.5, 2.0 and 2.0 Mini alongside free daily credits[9]. Its own guide gives 120 daily credits as the published August 2026 baseline and says no card is needed to start[7]. Watermark removal is listed as a paid benefit[8], so plan on a mark on free downloads.

Kling offers free generation with credits that depend on your account and promotions, and says some models, higher resolutions and advanced features need a membership[10]. Free exports generally carry a watermark[11]. Its newest model is Kling 4.0[13]; we could not verify on Kling's pages whether free credits reach it or how many credits a day you get.

Runway gives 125 credits once, and they never renew[14]. Free videos carry a Runway watermark[15]. Treat it as a trial, not a free plan.

Pika has no watermark on any plan, including Free, but the Free plan comes with 0 monthly credits, so you buy packs to generate anything, and there is no commercial license on Free[16]. It is free to look at, not free to use.

Krea gives 100 compute units a day with no card[17]. We could not find on its pages how many units one video costs, so we cannot say how many clips that buys.

Viggle works from video you upload (up to 1 minute on Free): 5 videos a day, one at a time, and the free plan keeps the watermark[18] [19].

Wan 2.2 is the only option here that is free with no cap[20]. The weights are released under Apache 2.0[20], with text-to-video and image-to-video at 480P and 720P[21]. The catch is hardware: you need a capable GPU and the patience to set it up.

Which free tools need no account

Almost none. Vidnoz's image-to-video page says no login is needed and allows one free generation a day[22]. Cast, our own app, gives one free 5-second character video with no account and no visible watermark. It runs in any phone browser, including the in-app browsers of social apps. It is a single video, though, not a free plan. Everything else in the table needs an account. More on this in free AI video generator without sign-up.

Verdict: which to pick

When it is worth paying

Pay when you hit one of three walls: you need the watermark gone, you need commercial rights, or you need volume. Buying per second through an API can work out cheaper than a monthly app plan; Replicate lists Seedance 2.0 Fast at $0.15 a second at 720p[23], and the Gemini API lists Veo 3.1 Lite at $0.05 a second at 720p[5]. Our cheapest AI video generator answer runs the numbers.

People also ask

Which free AI video generator gives the most credits?
Among the tiers we could verify, Dreamina's published August 2026 baseline of 120 daily credits[7] and Google Flow's 50 daily credits[1] renew every day, which beats any one-off grant over a month. Open-weight Wan 2.2 has no cap at all if you run it yourself[20].
Is Google's Veo free?
Partly. Flow's credits page gives 50 credits a day even without a subscription[1], but the Gemini API has no free tier for Veo[6]. See is Veo free.
Is Sora still free?
OpenAI shut down the Sora 2 models and its Videos API on 2026-09-24[24]. We could not verify the status of the consumer app on OpenAI's site.
What are the limits of free AI video?
Short clips, daily caps, watermarks, slower queues and usually no commercial rights. Runway's free credits never renew[14], and Pika's free plan has no commercial license[16].
