Playing
- How does Cast work?
- Every card is a choice. Watch an episode, and at the cliffhanger play a card from your hand to decide what happens next. Your first two cards are free and play instantly, with no sign-up.
- How long does filming take?
- If someone has already played your card at that cliffhanger, the scene plays instantly. If not, Cast films a brand-new scene for you. That usually takes one to three minutes and never more than about five. You don’t have to wait: leave the screen and, if notifications are on, we’ll tell you when it’s ready.
- What happens if filming fails?
- Your card comes back. If a scene can’t be filmed, or isn’t ready within about five minutes, it’s cancelled and the same card returns to your hand. Nothing is spent. You can try again or pick another card.
- Who can see the scenes I film?
- Scenes are public. Anyone who reaches the same cliffhanger with the same card plays your scene, and it shows your handle. Each time someone new plays it you earn a free card, up to five a day.
- Are the scenes made with AI?
- Yes. Cast Studio films every episode with AI video models, from cards and story material written by our team. You never type anything, and nothing about you is sent to the models. AI scenes can surprise us too; if one crosses a line, please report it.
- Do cards expire?
- No. A card stays in your hand until you play it.
Packs and odds
- What’s in a pack?
- Randomized cards from the show you’re playing. Each pack shows how many cards it holds and any guarantee before you buy. A guarantee such as “Rare guaranteed” means at least one card in the pack is that rarity or better: if no earlier card reached it, the pack’s last card does.
- What are the odds?
These are the current odds for Malfoid & Friends. In the app, every show lists its own odds under Packs → Odds & rates, and the odds shown there before you buy are the ones that apply. Within a rarity, every card is equally likely.
Rarity Chance per card Cards in the set Each card Common 60% 10 6% Rare 30% 7 4.29% Epic 9% 5 1.8% Secret 1% 2 0.5% - What is pity?
- A safety net against bad luck. You never open more than 3 cards in a row below Rare, 14 in a row below Epic, or 49 in a row without a Secret: the next card is guaranteed to reach that rarity. Every card you open counts, including free and reward cards, and the Packs screen shows how close you are. A guaranteed card is drawn in proportion to the normal odds of the rarities it can be: a guaranteed Rare-or-better card is Rare 75%, Epic 22.5%, Secret 2.5%, and a guaranteed Epic-or-better card is Epic 90%, Secret 10%.
- Can I win money?
- No. Cards have no cash value and can’t be sold, traded or cashed out. Rewards are always free cards, never money.
- How do I get free cards?
- Your first two cards are free. After that you earn a free card each time someone new plays a scene you filmed (up to five a day), and when a friend you challenge reaches Found 5.
- How do I get a refund?
- Purchases in the iPhone app go through Apple, so refunds do too: request one at support.apple.com/118223. If Apple refunds a pack, its unplayed cards are removed from your account. For a purchase on the website, email simon@katechon.technology.
Your account
- How do I keep my cards safe?
- Cast starts you on a guest account that lives on this phone. To keep your cards, stories and scenes if you lose or replace the phone, open You → Settings → Account and tap Sign in with Apple. Everything you have as a guest moves into your saved account.
- How do I get my account back on a new phone?
- Install Cast, open You → Settings → Account and sign in with the same Apple ID you used before. Your cards, stories and scenes come back. Packs are consumable purchases: once opened, the cards live in your Cast account rather than on the App Store, so signing in is what brings them back. Restore purchases (in Settings) finishes any purchase that was interrupted before its cards arrived.
- How do I delete my account?
- In the app, open You → Settings → Delete account and confirm. This works for guest accounts too, and it also revokes Cast’s Sign in with Apple access. Your cards, stories and personal details are deleted; public scenes you filmed stay for other players without your handle. Deleting the app alone doesn’t delete your account. If you can’t use the app, email simon@katechon.technology from your account’s email address or with your handle. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is deleted and kept.
- How do I turn notifications on or off?
- In iOS Settings → Cast → Notifications. We only notify you about your own scenes and rewards, such as when a scene has finished filming.
Safety
- How do I report a scene?
- While the scene plays, tap the ••• menu at the top and choose Report this scene, then pick a reason. We review reports within 24 hours and remove scenes that break our rules. A scene reported by several players is hidden automatically while we review it.
- How do I stop seeing someone’s scenes?
- In the same ••• menu, choose Hide scenes by @handle. Their scenes disappear from your cliffhangers and top lists.
- What isn’t allowed?
- Cheating, extra accounts for free cards, selling cards or accounts, and harassing other players. The Terms of Use have the full list.
